SAT stands for Scholastic Assessment Test. It’s an entrance exam widely used in the US by colleges and universities to decide the students to choose for admission.
The test is used to measure how ready a student is for the college. It gives university administrators a common data point with which to use and judge all applicants.
The SAT comprises 3 mandatory sections that test you in reading, writing, and math, with an essay section that is optional. The essay section can be mandatory if the programme you are applying for requires it.
You will be given 3 hours and 15 minutes to write the test with breaks. And if your programme requires the optional essay, SAT takes 4 hours, 5 minutes with breaks).
